Throwing a disco dance party out of doors can be a very easy and fun way to get together with friends.

If the weather cooperates, dancing on the deck or patio can be romantic or frantic and appeals to most music lovers.

Of course, adding a costume theme adds interest, and lately one of the hottest party themes is the 1970's which includes 70s costumes, disco music and revolving disco lights. As a party theme, the 70's can be a lot of fun.

Girls in search of 70s costumes can find mini A-line dresses in fantastical floral or paisley patterns and flaunt the very modest neck lines that were popular then. The skirts were high showing off beautiful legs and they were often contrasted by very chunky shoes or boots.

But, it must be said that only the most confident guys can rock out a leisure suit with a matching shirt and white belt and shoes.

A very lucky fellow might actually be able find a pair of ankle height boots with side zippers. Of course, don't forget to look for the double knit polyester, bell bottomed or flared pants that can be worn with boots or sandals. Stripes and prints are wildly popular in the 70s Costumes, and sometimes, they can be worn together.

Of course, if the party is out of doors and the temperatures are hot, a party goer needs to take the insulating qualities of double knit polyester into account before they choose long pants and jackets.

Polyester, especially of the double knit variety, doesn't breath as well as some of the natural fabrics. In fact, double knit polyester can be said to mimic a personal, portable spa.

Mini skirts and jump suits make alternative choices for 70s costumes as well. Couples can easily choose to wear matching jump suits when they appear at the 1970's themed party. Finding a store that specializes in 70s and other vintage style clothing made make it for couples to wear the same paisley or stripes. Choosing a 70's theme for a party gives guests a lot of choices for costumes.

It's sad news to share today. Following 3 year battle with cancer Farrah Fawcett died at 62 06/25/2009. This just two days after beloved Ed McMahon passed away. Farrah Fawcett died today at 62, just shy of six weeks since the airing of "Farrah's Story," the documentary that detailed her courageous battle against cancer.

Farrah Fawcett, who soared to fame as a national sex symbol in the late 1970s on television's campy "Charlie's Angels" and in a swimsuit poster that showcased her feathery mane and made her a generation's favorite pinup, died today. She was 62.

Fawcett, whose celebrity overshadowed her ability as a serious actress, was diagnosed with a rare anal cancer in 2006. She died at St. John's Health Center in Santa Monica, said Paul Bloch, her publicist.

Farrah Fawcett's death was announced just hours before the end of voting to determine the nominees for this year's Emmy Awards. Television's highest honor eluded this small-screen icon who earned three acting Emmy nominations during her three-decade-plus career.

Women in the 1970's were faced with some of the most unusual fashion choices one can imagine.

There had been some innovations in fabric that seemed to have the potential to change fashion forever.

Polyester was touted as a miracle fabric, that was easy care, held its shape and could be any possible color, but no one mentioned its ability to be a wearable sauna.

The fabric that was to revolutionize the 70s fashion world, ended up being easy care and not very comfortable.

In women's fashion, the emphasis was often on the legs and not the neckline. Mini skirts paired with boots were topped with turtleneck sweaters and heavy vests. The fabrics all seemed to have as much polyester as possible and there were stripes everywhere.

As a result, for the most part, no one seems to mourn the demise of 70s fashion. But, there were some bright spots, influences that linger today. In decades prior to the 1960 and 70's, clothes were a bit dull and boring and colors had coordinate and everything was predictable.

But, in 70s fashion, no one could predict exactly what anyone was going to wear at any given time. Boots weren't just for cowboy or skiers any more and were popular in almost any length. The boots were so popular, in fact, they were very important to the well dressed woman. But, men wore boots in many lengths and styles as well.

Men's shoes actually sported high heels and side zippers as well. For men and women, the staid and predictable pinstripe three piece suit was challenged by the leisure suit for men and the pants suit for women.

In fact, in 70s fashion, women wearing pants in the work place became more common and was slowly accepted in most business sectors. Women began to understand the comfort of trousers and injected them into the business world.

As the decade wore on, dresses became more feminine and clingy. The length was still short, but the necklines began to plunge as the wrap-around dresses took over on the disco scene. That hot dance atmosphere with its fast choreographed dances required that dresses move with the body and show off every move.

When a well known and much loved celebrity experiences tragedy, it often feels like something that's happening to a member of our own family or a close friend.

Like many people my age, I grew up watching Classic 70s Television Shows like Charlies Angels. And, yes, I did, in fact, have the classic Farrah Fawcett poster on my wall for many years.

While respecting their privacy is very important, I also think that the public needs the opportunity to share a little our love with them and to wish them only the best.

So I would like to say thank you to Farrah Fawcett for all her wonderful modeling work, acting and humanitarian efforts, and just for being such a spectacular human being.

Please enjoy all the full episodes of Charlies Angels courtesy of Hulu.Com. this show has a great premise and includes appearances by many actors who went on to great success in movies, television and more.

Beautiful, intelligent and ultra-sophisticated, "Charlies Angels" are everything a man could dream of...and way more than they could ever handle! Receiving their orders via speaker phone from their never seen boss, Charlie, the Angels employ their incomparable sleuthing and combat skills, as well as their lethal feminine charm, to crack even the most seemingly insurmountable of cases. Detective work never looked this good!

Jackson, Farrah Fawcett and Jaclyn Smith star as Jill, Sabrina and Kelly, beautiful ex-policewomen, who are hired as private investigators by a mysterious Dyer known as Charlie.
